The selection of a type of detergent depends on the condition of the raw wool and the requirements for wool cleaning. Currently, the weak alkaline wool washing method is commonly used, which can effectively remove lanolin while minimizing the damage to wool. Anionic detergents can only be used for alkaline or neutral hair washing, and cannot be mixed with cationic additives; Non ionic detergents can be used in both alkaline and acidic solutions, and can also be mixed with cationic or anionic detergents.
The amount of detergent and auxiliary detergent should be determined based on the fineness of wool, the content of lanolin, soil impurities, and grass impurities, as well as the requirements for wool cleaning. In principle, the detergent concentration during wool washing should be a little greater than the critical micelle concentration. Lanolin contains a lot of alcohols and is difficult to wash, so more detergent should be added; If there are more fatty acids in lanolin, an appropriate amount of soda ash can be added. It is better to use synthetic detergents for wool with high soil impurities; Wool produced in alkaline soil areas can use less alkali to avoid excessive damage to the wool caused by the high pH value of the main washing tank. An appropriate amount of soda ash and pH value can improve the whiteness of wool.
