In the first ten months of 2025, the import and export of wool textile raw materials and products maintained a stable trend with changes in demand structure. According to data from China Customs, the total import and export volume of wool textile raw materials and products reached 13.3 billion US dollars (equivalent to 95.4 billion RMB) from January to October, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%. Among this, the export volume was 10.27 billion US dollars (equivalent to 73.7 billion RMB), down 0.3% year-on-year, while the import volume stood at 3.03 billion US dollars (equivalent to 21.7 billion RMB), a year-on-year decline of 11.1%.
The export decline of wool textile raw materials and preliminary processed products narrowed significantly compared with the first half of the year. Specifically, the export of wool tops reached 37,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.8%, with the decline rate narrowing by 5.6 percentage points from the first half; the export value was 310 million US dollars, down 5.6% year-on-year, and the decline rate narrowed by 8.4 percentage points. The export of dehaired wool was 2,081 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15%, with the decline rate narrowing by 11 percentage points; the export value was 200 million US dollars, down 16.1% year-on-year, and the decline rate narrowed by 8.8 percentage points.
In contrast, the export performance of wool textile intermediate products and finished products showed a certain decline compared with the first half of the year. The export of wool yarn reached 27,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%, with the growth rate slowing by 2.5 percentage points; the export value was 710 million US dollars, up 17% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped by 1.8 percentage points. The export of wool sweaters was 63.87 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%, with the growth rate decreasing by 13.8 percentage points; the export value was 1.09 billion US dollars, up 8.8% year-on-year, and the growth rate fell by 9.6 percentage points. The export of wool woven garments reached 15.28 million pieces, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%, representing a drop of 11.3 percentage points from the first half; the export value was 630 million US dollars, down 7% year-on-year, and the decline rate expanded by 3.7 percentage points.
During the first ten months, China's cumulative imports of wool raw materials and preliminary processed wool reached 248,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.4%. Among this, the cumulative import of greasy wool was 206,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 11.7%, and the downward trend continued to narrow.
