In the first five months, exports of wool textile products to India and Turkey registered robust growth, reaching USD 76 million and USD 41.46 million respectively, up 40.19% and 24.89% year-on-year. Wool tops constituted the largest export contributor. From January to May, exports of wool tops to India and Turkey stood at 9,086 tons and 1,165 tons, growing by 77.22% and 54.69% year-on-year.
Imports of wool textile raw materials and products amounted to USD 1.71 billion (CNY 11.87 billion) in January–May 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 26.65%. Among this total, imports of wool and semi-processed wool reached USD 1.10 billion, rising 34.04% year-on-year, while the import volume hit 130,000 tons, roughly unchanged from the same period last year. Wool imports from Australia fell by 10% year-on-year, with the decline narrowing. Wool imports from New Zealand, Uruguay and Argentina maintained strong year-on-year growth.
