Down And Feather Industry Exports Total $2.18 Billion in 2025

In 2025, the total export value of China's down and feather industry reached approximately $2.18 billion, representing a slight decline of 2.6% compared to 2024.

Raw Down: Export volume remained basically flat year-on-year, but export value surged by 18.6%, reflecting a substantial increase in the average unit price.

Bedding: Both export volume and value remained stable. Volume saw a slight increase of 1.7%, while value dipped by 1.4%.

Apparel: Both export volume and value declined. Volume dropped by 22.2% and value fell by 16.3%.

In the month of December alone, total industry exports were approximately $130 million, plummeting by 34.1% year-on-year. All product categories experienced significant drops in both volume and value:

Apparel: Suffered the largest decline, with volume down 36.2% and value down 42.1%.

Raw Down: Volume and value decreased by 23.8% and 32.4%, respectively.

Bedding: Volume and value also slid by 12.1% and 24.0%, respectively.

Imports

In 2025, total imports for the industry reached approximately $1.34 billion, rising by 0.5% year-on-year.

Raw Down: Both import volume and value fell, dropping by 17.4% and 28.9%, respectively.

Apparel: Both import volume and value saw significant increases, rising by 18.5% and 12.0%, respectively.

Bedding: Import volume and value remained low, accounting for a small proportion of total imports.

In December alone, total industry imports were approximately $140 million, jumping by 18.6% year-on-year. Both raw down and apparel saw increases in both volume and value. Specifically, the import value of raw down rose by 36.6%, while apparel import volume surged by 87.7%.

As of December, the industry recorded a trade deficit for three consecutive months. However, the deficit narrowed significantly from $40.77 million in November to **$4.81 million** in December.
